A poem written about a friend and the dynamic we share with each other. Connection is invaluable in this world. It is important to be able to relate to someone. Friendship is very important to me especially given the piwer of loneliness.

Black cat girl, her heart torn apart
Her mind shattered, struggles to heal
Broken spirit, happiness she can’t feel
Begs for her soul to finally depart
Trauma undead, a zombie in her dreams
Begging for things to not be as they seem
She can’t find the hope she once held
Every day blending, scars only meld
Wary of others, black cat girl cries
For she’s still searching for the reason ‘why’
‘Why does every day only bring pain?’
’My existence is just a bane’
Golden retriever boy, forced to be tough
Broken childhood, puts up a front
To better himself, he’s on the hunt
Begs for survival to be less rough
Playful personality perpetuates passion
The wounds inside rarely show on his face
Judgement cast by others would lack ration
Stories he keeps tightly in place
Scared for his family, retriever boy cries
For he’s still struggling despite his tries
’There’s mouths to feed, taxes and stuff’
’I’m doing my best, but it’s still not enough’
Black cat girl and retriever boy,
connected through a screen
Share their deepest secrets
begging to come clean
Golden retriever boy and black cat girl
Friendship formed in torture, bond forged in pain
Two hearts similar, their stories uncurl
Different epeople but tales still the same
From southern ciphers to Canadian trials
Drugged torture tossed atop burning piles
Memories they both wish to forget
Choices that bring them both to regret
And if black cat girl is me
then you’re golden retriever boy
It’s a relief to finally be seen
Please tell me it’s not a ploy
It took several impossibilities to bring me to you
Black cat girl and golden retriever boy
Intensity masked in pain we fight through
To be understood brings me joy
